"La Sfinge" is a small hotel of only 15 rooms, all with shower and private services, some provided with conditioned air, others with a panoramic view on the enchanting and verdant valley underlying the Amiatas and Cetona mountains.The hotel is situated in the historical center of Chiusi, country of Lucumone Porsenna, in the cultural heart of the city at a distance of only two minutes by foot from the hotel you can found : - the National Archeological Etruscan Museum, the Cathedral devoted to St. Secondiano martyr, the Museum of the Cathedral that preserves, the famous Olivetanis Miniated Codes , the Burrows of the Labyrinth of King Porsenna that conduct to the Roman Cistern of the I° century B.C.
With a brief walk of 15 minutes,you can arrive to the Catacombs of Saint Mustiola or to those of Saint Caterina. For the lovers of the tracking or the bicycle,there are beautiful tracing runs with several degrees of difficulty that conduct to the Lake of Chiusi and to the most important Archaeological Sites of the town. For the lovers of wines adnd gastronom you can found famous restaurants quoted in the most authoritative and qualified Italian and International guides.
Chiusi, thanks to its particular position in the center of Italy, in the proximity to the Tollgate (3 Kms.) and to the Railway junction (2Km.) is particularly right as point of departure for daily excursions towards the principal Cities of art in the center of Italy: Florence 105 Kms., Rome 140 Kms., Perugia 48 Kms., Siena 70 Kms., Assisi 85 kms., Orvieto 35 kms., Montepulciano 20 kms.
